Why can prices vary so much from school to school?
Large national schools will often charge the highest rates, as they have large administrative overheads to cover. Often pupils may find however, that they get a different instructor from lesson to lesson. This makes it difficult for the learner to gain consistency in their learning, which in turn, can lead to not only pupils becoming demoralised but also having to take more lessons to progress .
Trainee instructors, who are not fully qualified, are also used by some large driving schools. These instructors have no significant experience of teaching learners to drive. All Trainee instructors must display a pink "Trainee" badge on the windscreen of their vehicle.
Be wary of 'cut price' lessons and low quality instruction
Some driving schools will actually advertise "Cheap Driving Lessons." In driving instruction you will find that you get what you pay for. A school offering cheap lessons often needs to do so because they have a high pupil turnover. In other words, dissatisfied pupils leave.
